About

Life Design Therapy was founded in 2023 as a response to the growing mental health crisis in America following the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of us lost meaningful occupations and important social connection. This left us feeling disconnected from life. Our goal is to expand the reach of Occupational Therapy for mental health in the privacy of your home, on your schedule, through the convenience of telehealth. You’ll learn practical life skills and strategies to help you connect to yourself, others, and your environment in a meaningful way. We’re passionate about helping you design the life you’ve always wanted to live.

Angela Frame, OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Angela Frame is a board certified, licensed Occupational Therapist with a specialty focus in mental health. She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. She also holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Angela’s doctoral capstone paper focused on the facilitation of community reintegration for combat veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Dr. Frame has worked as an outpatient clinician at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) for over 5 years before branching out to private telehealth practice. She has completed over 1,000 initial evaluations and care plans and has provided both in-person and telehealth interventional treatment with veterans with a range of needs.  Her clinical work has focused mainly on cognitive rehabilitation for mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and mental health promotion and wellness for veterans with PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Frame serves as a Teaching Professional in the Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at Boston University. Her duties include providing mentorship to 3 students in the program, assisting them with coursework and guiding the progress of their doctoral projects. She personally coaches each mentee for the duration of their time in the program, which is 18-24 months, culminating in their capstone paper and presentation.

Prior to a career in healthcare, Dr. Frame worked in the film and television industry for 14 years, creating artwork for special effects at several major studios including Industrial Light + Magic, Weta Digital, Rhythm & Hues, and Nickelodeon. Her work can be seen in Star Wars: Episode 2, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, IRobot, King Kong, Life of Pi, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Dr. Frame has had an unconventional journey on her path to private practice. This has given her a wide variety of experiences, knowledge, and insight that she takes with her into each session.
