Services

Evidence-based Occupational Therapy rooted in positive psychology.

Our evidence-based therapeutic approach uses positive psychology concepts which focus on promoting positive emotions, behaviors, and relationships through the use of personally meaningful activities. This approach helps you to develop a hopeful outlook on life, increase your resilience, and improve your overall well-being. We do this by:

  • Emphasizing your strengths: helping you to identify and cultivate your strengths, abilities, and values.

  • Flow: Flow is a state of optimal experience that occurs when you’re fully engaged in a task or activity. We encourage you to seek out activities that promote flow, as these experiences can lead to increased happiness and well-being.

  • Mindfulness: Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment, without judgment or distraction. We help you learn mindfulness skills as a way to reduce stress and enhance well-being.

  • Meaning and purpose: We emphasize the importance of finding meaning and purpose in life. We collaborate with you to reflect on your values and goals, and to pursue activities and goals that align with your sense of purpose.

  • Positive relationships: We recognize the importance of positive relationships in well-being. We’ll help you build and maintain positive social connections with others, and to foster a sense of belonging and social support.

Life Design

Throughout the therapeutic process, we collaborate with you every step of the way to create a customized life plan that’s unique to your needs and goals. The process involves:

  1. Goal setting: Creating specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based (SMART) goals. We help you break down these goals into smaller, more manageable steps, and celebrate progress along the way.

  2. Exploration: Exploring new skills and experiences that align with your values, interests, and strengths.

  3. Competence: Developing habits and routines, refining skills, and incorporating values into what you do so you can be effective in your environment.

  4. Achievement: Gaining skills towards a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with your daily activities.

  5. Positive social support: Building positive social support networks to enhance your sense of belonging and connectedness.
